Hi again. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Here are two great websites for all of the science teachers out there and for those who want to venture into cross-disciplinary lessons that include science.
1. The Science Teachers website is a user-friendly, helpful resource that includes Life Science, Space Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. The site provides FREE printable flash card activities, crossword puzzles, lesson plans, and other learning activities. The activities are suitable for upper elementary and middle school students.
2. The Sourcebook for Teaching Science website provides many creative teaching ideas. This website was developed to accompany The Sourcebook for Teaching Science textbook but is not limited to teachers who use the book. There are a variety of science games such as Jeopardy! (with sample PowerPoint template), Taboo, bingo, Pictionary, baseball, what in the world, twenty-one questions, computer games and simulations, tangrams, timers and stopwatches, and icebreaker games. In addition to the interactive games and activities, the website provides teaching strategies and resources for developing scientific literacy, reasoning, understanding, problem solving, and research skills.
Check out these science websites. I’m sure that you and your students will enjoy both of them.
